Formatting text in web app
Bold, underline and italic could be nice.

When copying/pasting a formatted text from elsewhere, it is pasted in the formatted format in Diaro. So it looks like the text can be formatted, but there is no command to set the format ourselves.
I think I will copy a formatted text to do a model that I will then use, and maybe some dummy bold/normal/italics/underlined text to copy the format and paste it when needed in my text. Definitely not a convenient solution, but while we have nothing better... -

And a choice of fonts, bulleted/numbered lists. The usual basic stuff.

Just adding to the chorus here, it seems like a pretty glaring oversight to have a journaling app (where the entire product is about organize entries you write using text) that does not allow for basic things like bold and italics. Not asking for any fancy highlighting or custom fonts etc just want to be able to bold something. I am disappointed that I didnt find out about this issue until after I purchased. You will lose revenue because of this

Heck it's 2020 and this feature is still planned?

Hey Diaro, this woudl be insane, especially if you used a common stanrad like Markdown - look at todo.txt. If not, how about putting your code on github and opening it up so some other people can branch this and help you? This post has been open for nearly five years, that's really slow, you have a great app, but any minute now someone is going to copy you and you're going to lose the plot. Time to kick it up a notch!

Who builds an app without basic functionality? I can't even read what I type because the font is so bad. This is unusable as is. I will be switching to a better product.

I vote Markdown support - it's a common standard and makes your platform more appealing as it plays better with the online ecosystem. Oh, and an API, and the ability to be able to email an entry.

Sooo is this being considered at all? Formatting options, even just basic ones, would be tremendous. And ability to edit pdfs couldn't hurt

is this still planned? its been over 3 years.
you can just do a simple markup like adding asterisks to make bold like **this**.
and to italicize like *this*its really not that difficult. im a coder, and i can write this code in like 15 mins

How is this still not an option? We're not in 1999. Font formatting is a basic thing that even basic text editors have, nowadays.
