Should have Full Screen Option, Text Markdown support, Dark theme and human readable backup file
Here are some tips for improving Diaro, my favourite app.
Should have Full Screen Option. As it is a journal, the user has to fully concentrate on the diaro.
Text Markdown support, as we can choose headlines, sub heads, italics with markdown support.
Dark theme for night use as major of the users use it in night.
A human readable backup file is required to easily edit or view the diaro content. The same should be readable for diaro too.13 votesSome of these features will be added in the future updates.

More Options with Export
It would be nice to have more options within the export function. for example: export without category tags, without such a big branding (a bit smarter please or clean option), export without pictures, export with localized language (i prefer german) in date and time (24h, no am/pm)

Sync with Evernote and possible donation of code for use by the Diaro site
Hello,
I also use Evernote for other document storage, but I vastly prefer Diaro for "journaling". I am experimenting with writing a process that will sync Diaro files to Evernote.
In this respect, I have three questions:
1) It's not readily clear to me when looking at the XML of a Daro backup how exactly the dates/times are stored. I see a number which I thought might be the number of ticks, but I'm not entirely sure. Can you indicate how these dates/times are stored?
2) Is there any information on the sync files that would allow me to use…

synchronize data with google?
Is it possible to sync my devices and the online-version from Diaro with on my google webspace= dropbox is very expensive over 2GB.

Export from app to .txt or better
export from within android app to .txt file at least.

Blank Screen
I use this in an office environment. It would be nice if there was an option to have just the calendar show until one clicks on a date and then an option to have only the titles show rather than the entire entry.

Some sort of 'legend' or Notes area so that I can add notes about things that apply to many entries.
In old written diaries I sometimes make reference to people - but now I've forgotten who they are. If I had made a note at the start of the diary of who they were or what initials stood for, then I'd know be reminded of who they were. Or I might use a code to describe how say films are - R for rubbish, never recommend this to anyone, R+ for rubbish but you could imagine other people liking it so don't put people off going to see it. R* for rubbish but had elements that you liked. That's not…

Great app. Use it daily but few things needed.
It would be nice if you could have reminders on this app and also be able to upload PDF files
I must admit that recently the photos that I upload when using my laptop don't come through even though they have been uploaded. Don't know why.

Adding reference to photos in text export
The text export doesn't include a reference to the attached photo's.
The photo's are stored in dropbox with a genereted folder name. It would be nice if this generared name (ID) is also added to the text export.

Templates and Shortcuts
It would be great if users could create templates to allow quickly applying specific tags, the category, and the location to a new entry. This would greatly speed up entry creation.
Then, being able to use the templates to add shortcuts or widgets to the home screen would be awesome. This way users could set up various templates with the particular tags, etc. for a certain kind of entry (e.g. business/project ideas will have different tags/category than a travel journal entry) and get straight to the content of the entry.
It would also be great if shortcuts for multiple templates…

Change the order of the photos
Would be a great idea if I could change the order of the photo list even if they are already attached

Insert in-line images IN the text, not only at the bottom. Scaling the images. Second title line.
~ Insert thumbnails in the text
~A secondary title line: one for the actual title and a second one for day's rating (ABCD) and location or other standard components of the title.

Add Open Document Format export function.
Some times I start out writing idea on Diaro, but when the idea gets serious I need fully featured Word Processor. Please add export function that can export the entries or entire journal to either Open Document format or Word document.

User interface.
To be clear, I think the user interface is awesome. However, I can think of one improvement I'd like to see. It would be neat if you could expand the calendar onto the main panel and just view the calendar as a collage of pictures that I have added to my Diaro posts.

it would be great if I could make pictures with the app and it could be shown in the app or browser in Google Map.
